New Adventures - ‘Bring it On’ - Cochem, Germany (Day 3-4)

“Life is like riding a bicycle – in order to keep your balance, you must keep moving.” - Albert Einstein

After two beautiful days, the weather started to turn. We were lucky that most of day 3 was sunny - a bit cooler, but still sunny and quite nice. We rented bikes and traveled to a quaint village named Beilstein - another little place along the Mosel.

After the bike ride, we took a walk to Hieronimi Winery. Although wine tasting with explanations in ’English’ are available, you need to make a reservation — we did not, But the nice lady still took care of us and we were able to taste 4 different dry wines each. I used Apple translator to read the wine descriptions and we created our own little wine tasting for about 1/2 the price!

Day 4 brought lots of rain, so we took the train to Bulay to enjoy a Spa for the day - cameras were not allowed! Days 3 and 4 evenings brought heavy rains, so we had a wonderful dinner at our hotel and enjoyed the German springtime delicacy of Spargel (white asparagus).

Tips 4-6 for Cochem…

4. If you can ride a bike, definitely bike to the town of Beilstein and walk through this quaint little town.

5. The Hieronimi Winery was awesome and the wine was fantastic!

6. On bad weather days, consider a visit to the spa for saunas, hot baths, and possibly a massage.
