“I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it's such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.” — Ellen DeGeneres
This quote made us laugh out loud. We appreciate all beautiful creatures, dead or alive!
Our 2nd Safari was in the Schotia Private Game Reserve where we saw even more animals in their natural habitat. Even though the heat was intense at over 100 degree F, we were amazed by the magnificent, beautiful and intimidating animals! Glad we were in the Safari vehicle with our guide - Roan!
Our number one tip for both of the safaris is to get a good camera. All of our pictures were taken on iPhones which worked OK but as you can tell some of the pics are a bit fuzzy due to the distances. Most of the other travelers on our safari had very long telephoto lenses with SLR cameras. While we probably would not get anything that large, it would have been nice to have something a bit more robust than an iPhone…. Still, love our iPhones and the great thing about them is we always have them with us. :)
Cape Lions, Elephants, Giraffes, Zebras, Hippos, Crocodiles, Bushbucks, White Rhinos, Springbucks, Blesbucks, African Buffalos, Black Wildebeest, Waterbuck, Cape Eland,
Sable Antelope, and the cutest Warthogs ever!!! Plus, we had an amazing Ostrich lunch, and, a beautiful sunset to end our day at Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth) bay.
