Life is about the adventures you take and the memories you make. So travel often and live life with open eyes and an open heart.” ― Katie Grissom

Tip #1 - Enjoy a fantastic Germany beer or wine whenever you get the chance!

Tip #2 - Karlsruhe does not have a lot to offer during the winter months, so consider visiting for a day and taking a walking tour, or wait until late spring or early summer.

Tip #3 - If you have the time and you are military or retired military, consider taking a Space-A flight to save money. Just be flexible, as you may not get on the flight you want.

We headed to Karlsruhe from Frankfurt Airport and enjoyed a great German meal with beer and wine at the lovely Der Vogel Brewery. Thank you Germany for serving fantastic wine at a brewery!

On our second day, we took a walking tour through Karlsruhe. Jack took this amazing picture at one of the many churches, and we checked out the rest of the sites, including the castle and early spring flowers.

That night, we found a fantastic Italian restaurant - Tropea! Amazing pizza and lasagna. Best meal in a long time for both of us!

On our last day in Germany, we spent the night in Ramstein and headed to the Air Force Base the next day in hopes of catching a flight home. Yep, only $80 for retiree and spouse to catch a flight from Ramstein, Germany to Baltimore Washington International Airport! It was a little cramped, but we were happy to get a seat on the flight!
