Robert Emmons, a leading scientist on gratitude notes that grateful people sleep 30 minutes longer and work out 33% more.
I'm a very grateful person, but I never thought about gratitude in the way Brian Johnson describes it, or the benefits noted by Emmons. I believe the science, and I take a few minutes each day to write down my gratitudes, The simple action has helped me sleep much better, and be a better human.
Over the past 7 days, I had to the occasion to talk with a high school Women in STEM program, and spend time with my aunt - who just turned 80! It's amazing what we can learn from and be inspired by those 1/3 of our age, as well as those 1 and 1/2 times our age. I am truly grateful for both opportunities! I hope you get the chance to spend time with those who inspire you! Take some time to write down a few of your gratitudes and thank those who make a positive difference in your life!
