Inspirational Update - 20 October 2024

Last week, I had two uplififting experiences. On Sunday, I volunteered to support the “Walk To End Alzheimer’s” in Frederick, MD — it was an emotional and moving event. I pray for all those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementias as well as for their families. Unfortunately, I watched my grandmother slowly die from this dreadful disease — I know from experience how hard to see those we admire, love and cherish suffer from memory loss and stuggle through this illness. I have also witnessed my dear friend and her family battle with this as her mom’s health declined from this unfortunate sickness.

I also had the opportunity, thanks to my awesome cousin — Shannon, to volunteer at her school during career day. I mentioned the value of serving your country, as a civilian or in the military, leadership and the importance to love what you do! It was a touching experience, and I admire our teachers and what they do for our children every day!

Take some time this month to help inspire a child or help those suffering — it is more rewarding than you think, and more importantly you are helping others!
